Joyful: The Surprising Power Of Ordinary Things To Create Extraordinary Happinesshachette book group
I’m Jen Gotch, founder and Chief Creative Officer of ban.do, and I really want you to feel better! I have struggled with mental health issues for most of my life and I know how challenging it can be both personally and professionally. It’s so important for us to open up a dialogue about how we are feeling and get to a place where we are comfortable asking for and receiving help. One thing we can all do is work to remove the stigmas associated with mental illness. These necklaces are a step in doing that and I hope they can also serve as a conversation starter for people to be more open about what’s going on in their minds. Wear it in good (mental) health.
rResilience is a truly magnificent gift. In a word, it is toughness. Oh, and it is a skill, not a trait—which means all of us have the capacity to be resilient. And resilience doesn’t mean that you are above curling up on the floor in the fetal position, devastated by stress and emotion, covered in tears and snot (ahem, been there). It just means that at some point, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on.
One hundred percent of the net proceeds of this necklace will go to Bring Change to Mind, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to ending the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.
